Stormwater Management
Soil Solutions can provide property owners, managers, and contractors with professional expertise in resolving stormwater management issues. Many properties with parking lots have catch basins that collect stormwater from the surrounding impermeable surfaces. It is not uncommon for these catch basins to be connected to dry wells. When the dry wells were installed years ago, the DEQ did not regulate their construction. The DEQ has recently created an underground injection control (UIC) program to regulate and register dry wells around the state. We have completed dry well services including registration, retrofitting and decommissioning of existing stormwater conveyance systems. We can plan and construct new stormwater discharge systems such as soakage trenches, bioswales and dry wells.The image below illustrates the steps involved with registering a dry well with the DEQ. It also identifies some of the issues that may need to be addressed in the process of bringing the wells into compliance.
